OSCAR BENJAMIN GARCIA DAVILA, ALIAS “EL RAMBO” SENTENCED TO 40 YEARS IN PRISON


The Fifth District Court in the Federal District informed of the sentence it issued in case 12/98 and its cumulative 25/99 (Maxitrial and the Cancun Case) against Oscar Benjamin Garcia Davila, alias “El Rambo”. The former Federal judicial Police agent, linked to the criminal organization of the Carrillo Fuentes brothers, was found guilty of violation of the Federal Law on Organized Crime and drug trafficking, namely for cooperating with and abetting the execution of such crimes.

Oscar Benjamin Garcia Davila was sentenced to 40 years in prison, and a fine equivalent to 8343 days of the minimum wage or 220,672 pesos and 35 cents. He was also banned from any employment, commission or public post for the same number of years.

As a result of the investigations made by the Specialized Unit on Organized Crime (UEDO), Garcia Davila was identified as a member of the drug organization headed by Carrillo Fuentes, alias “The Lord of the Skies”. As the Subdirector of the Federal Judicial Police in the state of Quintana Roo, he protected the organization. He had been appointed by the then state Governor Mario Villanueva Villareal.
